Terms & Conditions

Website usage guidelines and terms for custom commissions, live brand events, and workshops

Welcome to Calligraphy Puebla (Caligrafía Puebla). These Terms & Conditions govern access to and use of caligrafiapuebla.com, as well as the contracting of custom calligraphy, lettering, hand engraving, live brand activations, and workshops provided by Miguel Contreras ("Calligraphy Puebla").

01

Scope of Artistic Services

Calligraphy Puebla provides specialized bespoke calligraphy and hand-engraving services for private clients, weddings, and luxury brands:

  • Calligraphy & fine stationery: wedding invitations, envelope addressing, custom wax seals, diplomas, certificates, vows, and bespoke letters.
  • Hand engraving: precision freehand engraving on glass, crystal, metal, perfume flacons, and spirits bottles.
  • Live brand activations & on-site events: live calligraphy, bottle engraving, and custom painting experiences for corporate events, product launches, and luxury boutiques.
  • Workshops & education: group workshops and private calligraphy and lettering sessions.
02

Quotes, Deposits & Payments

Every project is bespoke and quoted according to technique, volume of pieces, complexity, materials, and schedule. Financial terms follow these guidelines:

  • Quote validity: All written quotes are valid for 15 calendar days from the date of issue unless otherwise specified.
  • Deposit & booking: To confirm any custom commission or reserve a date for a live event, a non-refundable 50% deposit is required. This deposit secures calendar availability, creative preparation, and material sourcing.
  • Final balance: For studio commissions, the remaining 50% must be settled prior to final delivery or shipping. For corporate brand activations, final payment is processed according to the agreed purchase order or service contract.
03

Handcrafted Nature, Materials & Guest Lists

All work by Calligraphy Puebla is 100% handcrafted. By commissioning our services, the client acknowledges and appreciates the organic nature of artisan work:

  • Artisan variations: Because our work is executed entirely by hand rather than mechanical printing or industrial laser, subtle organic variations between strokes are natural and guarantee the uniqueness of each piece.
  • Client-supplied items: When the client provides the surfaces to be customized (envelopes, fine paper, perfume bottles, glassware), we request an additional 10% to 15% of extra pieces in stationery commissions for ink testing and contingencies.
  • Text & guest list approval: The client is responsible for providing final guest lists, names, and phrases with accurate spelling and punctuation. Once approved, any replacements due to spelling errors in the client’s original list will incur an additional per-piece fee.
04

Live Events, Cancellations & Workshops

To ensure seamless execution during on-site brand activations, private events, and educational workshops, the following terms apply:

  • Live event hours: On-site service covers the hours specified in the approved quote. Any overtime requested during the event must be authorized by the client’s on-site coordinator and will be billed at the applicable hourly overtime rate.
  • Rescheduling: Event date changes must be requested at least 15 calendar days in advance and are subject to schedule availability.
  • Workshops: Workshop registrations include reserved seating and personalized material kits and are non-refundable in the event of non-attendance; however, a ticket may be transferred to another attendee for the same session with at least 48 hours’ prior notice.
05

06

Limitation of Liability & Governing Law

For orders shipped via third-party couriers at the client’s request, Calligraphy Puebla packages all items with protective standards, but is not liable for transit delays or handling incidents attributable directly to the shipping carrier.
